WABA Committees

Two of the many goals of the new Wisconsin Agri-Business Association are; 1) to represent and promote the interests of our members, and 2) to actively engage our members in making our industry the best it can be. In order to meet these goals. It is our hopes that these committees will give your association grassroots advice and input in industry matters that are important to you.

AGRONOMY & PLANT PROTECTION COMMITTEE

The purpose of this committee is to review new and existing fertilizer and chemical issues that can potentially affect our members, and determine what things WABA can be doing to assist our members in these areas. The committee will also serve as an advisory committee in developing and administering training and educational programming (Ex: Custom Applicators Program, Continuing Custom Applicator Program, Agronomy Managers Assessment Center, etc...).

FEED COMMITTEE

The purpose of this committee is to review new and existing feed issues that can potentially affect our members, and determine what things WABA can be doing to assist our members in these areas. The committee will also serve as an advisory committee in developing and administering training and educational programming (Ex: Regional meetings for compliance issues for the upcoming Food Safety Modernization Act).

WISCONSIN AGRIBUSINESS CLASSIC CONFERENCE COMMITTEE

The purpose of this committee is to help in planning the convention(s) and trade show(s). The committee will be asked to brainstorm ideas to make our convention(s) successful. They will help develop training session topics, breakout session topics, and help in choosing locations, speakers,  programs, and entertainment.

PUBLIC RELATIONS AND POLITICAL ADVOCACY COMMITTEE

The purpose of this committee is to promote and build good working relations with legislators, regulatory agencies, and other associations and groups within the agriculture industry. The committee will proactively work to create and maintain a good business climate for our industry members. The committee will also oversee all political action funds collected within the association and manage those funds to best promote our industry.

SCHOLARSHIP COMMITTEE

The purpose of the Scholarship Committee is to direct and oversee the association scholarship program. The committee will help in determining the scholarship program structure (how many scholarships, how recipients are chosen, etc...), ways to raise funds for the scholarship program (golf outings, silent auctions, etc...), ways to advertise the program, help in selecting the recipients, and help determine the best ways to present the scholarships.

INVESTMENT COMMITTEE

As a subcommittee of the Board of Directors, the purpose of the Investment Committee is to address the investments of the association, review their progress on at least a quarterly basis, and to make recommendations to the Board of Directors on strategic changes that should be made to our investment portfolio.
